Animals In Captivity

Times of India news Tuesday March 13, 2018 page 6 announces Desert Safari in the heart of Delhi city zoo a concrete jungle in 5 acres area under master plan 2031.
I think it’s heart breaking news of keeping and forcing animals and birds in captivity where millions will be spent to keep the following:

Blackbuck, nilgai, hog deer, palm civet, desert cat, porcupine, hare, python, sand boa, rat snake, peacock, quail, red jungle fowl etc.

It’s controversial and something to debate about, a very cruel scheme of things indeed.
I don’t know who plans all this and why.
Freedom of animals, birds, insects, fish is as important as that of all human beings, and I am sure you will all agree.

In 2015 I had gone to see or understand about a similar Safari somewhere near Udaipur, Rajasthan, India, and was not very happy at the condition of animals in the scorching summer sun.
Zoo, cage, or aquariums for fish or turtles, I don’t think these are very good ideas in the long run, and they should be best avoided, or dismantled in a slow phased manner, so that the animals, birds, or fish are able to adapt to their new found freedom, and they do not die or get hurt in the process of setting them free.
