Education- All Theory, No Practice

Modern education seems to be going more and more off the track.
It is so much of theory, and hardly any practicals.
It’s like you wish to learn how to drive a vehicle, but they teach you about the engine, electricals, or how to dismantle or assemble the break pads.
They teach you anything but driving.

I will give you another example.
By the time students in India have finished 12th class, and they are 18 or 19 years old, most of them join colleges or correspondence courses by taking up courses they don’t know anything about.
This they do just to get a college degree of 3 years at least so that they are called well educated.
These students should instead join a company, or start their own enterprise, and they should be automatically given a college degree of practical knowledge after 3 years, if they show results or track records of what they have done or achieved.

What I want to say here is that modern education should be more and more based on practice of the work or a job, and experience, rather than just sitting on a chair with loads of books of irrelevant subjects or lessons.
Secondly, there are hardly any subject or classes on how to save the environment and ecology.
So what exactly are we studying for….. rocket science….
