Progress & Consequences

Today, prime ministers and presidents of the world only speak the language of progress to get more and more votes for themselves.
What good is over the board progress if it only means destruction of earth and environment?
At the same time, they also say the end of earth is so near now.
The glaciers are fast disappearing from the face of the planet.
Forests, rivers, lakes, and oceans are loosing their identity too.
Same goes for the innumerable species of animal life that’s making way for a human population explosion accompanied by our greed, consumption, and materialism.

Its time for the politicians also to show the way by shunning and leaving out the luxuries, expensive suits, limousine cars, and five star showbiz life.
History tells us that very rare people did not use state machinery for personal luxuries, or to entertain foreign dignitaries under the pretext of improving relations, e.g. Gandhiji and Lal Bahadur Shastriji.
Gandhiji died in the year 1948 and Lal Bahadur Shastriji in 1966.
Since then these people became even more rare.
Now we have all kinds of politicians plundering the resources, and speaking and lecturing for the cause of the poor.
I personally have got nothing against my dear politicians, and may well become a politician myself one day.
And I certainly hope I keep my words, and do exactly as what I am saying out here.

Secondly and most importantly, for God’s sake, please find ways to control human population and treat it as a global crisis, and not as some individual problem of a few countries.
